What is a good, not too expensive Portable DVD Player?

Filed Under (portable dvd player) by admin on 03-02-2010

What is a good Portable DVD Player that has good picture, that has a long lasting battery, and is $120 or less. I know that the best ones are more expensive than that, but in that range of price which one would you recommend for someone who is going on a pretty long plane trip?
Oh, and this is just a question I have.
For the battery length, if it goes out, do you have to charge the battery, or can you just put in new batteries?

Thanks so much!

Why don’t you go for video ipods like apple nano or apple touch. And if really, you are interested in portable dvd player you can undoubtedly go for Sony or Philips. Well, I do not know the price but hope this info helps!!!! I will try to find out their prices and model no. and give it to u thru this ‘answers’ service.

What to know about high def dvd players?

Filed Under (dvd players) by admin on 03-02-2010

We recently got a 60" hdtv. Now I want to get an hddvd player. I’ve noticed that a lot of dvd players say up conversion. Does that mean they play high def dvds or just upconvert anything you play. Anything I should know about would be greatly appreciated

There is a difference between an upconverted DVD and a high def DVD.

Upconverted DVD player plays standard definition DVDs (480p) and upscales it to 720p or 1080i. This is what we call pseudo-HD or some call it marketing hype. It’s really a waste of money. 480p is known as enhanced defintion or EDTV. It’s not high definition, which is 720p, 1080i or 1080p.

A high definition DVD player plays DVDs recorded in 1080p, which come in two flavors: BluRay and HD-DVD. Each flavor requires it’s own proprietary player meaning you have to buy a BluRay player to play a BluRay disc. Since the movie was originally recorded in high def and it is being transmitted to your TV in high def, then it’s true high def.

If you have a progressive DVD player, you will still be amazed by the picture. But, it will be breathtaking connecting a high definition DVD player to your TV at full HD resolution.

Does my computer already have a dvd ripper installed?

Filed Under (dvd ripper) by admin on 02-02-2010

I have a laptop, and i was wondering if any one new if it would already have a dvd ripper installed, and if it didnt if there was any where i could download one for free.
I just want to rip them onto my computer for making like Fan videos and stuff like that, nothing illegal.

Obviously, you’re new at this. Keep in mind that ripping DVD’s (even ones that you own) is illegal. Some people are fooled into thinking that making "backups" is legal, but it’s not. The Digital Millennium Copyright Act that our pal Bill Clinton signed into law makes the act of bypassing copyright protection "mechanisms" illegal. So although it’s our right to have a backup, the process we use to make that backup is illegal. It’s a catch-22!

You might want to first learn how to use a search engine (such as Yahoo or Google), then you can find what you’re looking for.

where can i buy a back seat organizer that holds a portable dvd player?

I’m trying to find an organizer that attaches to the front seat headrest, and faces the backseat. I need one that holds a portable dvd player (holds it flat against the seat.) I tried to do a search but can’t figure out the correct keywords?

Hope this helps.

can I burn a movie on a dvd burner when it is being played on a ps3?

Filed Under (dvd burner) by admin on 02-02-2010

I have got connected to my flat-screen panasonic television,a panasonic dvd writer and a ps3,when playing a movie on the ps3,can I burn it at the same time on the dvd burner?

That’s basically what dvd recorders were made for, right?

but not via HDMI. HDCP encryption would block you, just like the old Macrovision on VCR’s.

You would have to use either composite or component cables. Component would be better because quality would seriously suffer. Both are analog outputs, so you would be using the DVD recorder to re-digitize an analog signal. Better to have it be a high-resolution signal then.

It’s possible that there’s some copy protection that could block you, even if you use composite.

Another problem you might have is that consumer dvd recorders don’t really compress the video. And recordable dvd’s can’t fit more than 60 to 80 minutes of uncompressed video. Commercial dvd’s that you rent are 9gb, whereas recordables are 4.7gb. And guess why they made it that way?

If your recorder is good enough that you can pause the movie when the first disc ends, then finish the recording on another disc, it might be worth it. It won’t give a great quality recording but it might be worth it.

I have a DVD recorder and am able torecord to a dvd. How can I get the dvd’s to play on other dvd players?

Filed Under (dvd players) by admin on 02-02-2010

I have no problems recording from camcorder or tv but I can’t get the dvd’s to play on my other dvd players. Is there a special disk that I need to use, or am I hopless?

I used to use an Emerson, I think. I just had to make sure that the recorder formatted the DVD. After it recorded, I could play it in any DVD player. Your instruction manual might mention whether they can be played in other players. I would check it and if it doesn’t mention it then check the manufacturer’s website.

can somebody give me a link to a good dvd ripper?

i want a good quality dvd ripper that doesn’t take up much space as downloading is pretty costly for me.

How about WinX dvd ripper? Less than 7MB, clean and neat. lol

Easy to use, only a few clicks to rip DVD to the video format you want. Ripping speed is fast and the video quality is amazing. I’ve tried several DVD rippers and this one is the best.

Check it out at http://www.winxdvd.com/dvd-ripper/ A freeware, not a trial. No registration, virus free. Free yet professional. lol
