15 DVDs a month may seem excessive to you but that is fairly low usage for a drive they can do a lot of work eventually all drives wear out

no you can expect the drive to last for years.
i’ve had no probs with mine and i do more than that

Not really. The laser will, in fact, die eventually, but you can expect the drive to last for years, barring some unforeseen hardware failure (it does happen occasionally – just bad luck).

Case in point, I’ve burned, at the very least, 1000 DVDs on my drive over the years and it’s still fine. I have no idea how many CDs I’ve burned, but it’s a high number too.

dont worry about it, let it cool down after burner for 10 mins, leave the tray open

no you should be perfectly fine, normal wear & tear come with any product but it will definitely take more than 15 a month to break that burner
