Handbrake, at http://handbrake.fr, is a free, multi-platform application that allows you to save movies on DVD to your computer. In fact, it’s really very simple to do. First insert your dvd, then launch handbrake, and your pretty much done. Change any settings you want, press start, and handbrake takes care of the rest bringing your dvd collection to your computer.

handbrake stopped …
handbrake stopped working for me about a year ago, but then I found out that the new version doesn’t decrypt the dvds, you have to download VLC player and apparently just by doing this, handbrake goes back to working normally… it has worked for 2/3 dvds i have recently ripped, i’m currently ripping the third… we’ll see how that goes .. also, when you pick the destination of the saved file, change .m4v to .mp4, thats worked better for me . . .
